All Souls Day

Today is All Souls Day, November 2nd. All Souls day is a feast day celebrated by the Catholic Church. Today at church the priest explained a little about this day. He talked about how this was a good opportunity to think of those whom we have lost in the past year. In reading about this feast day I realized that there was a lot I didn't really know about it. I came to the conclusion that this is the Catholic Church's version of Memorial Day. In remembering those we have lost, this day is also a good opportunity for us to remember where we are going. This day gives us the chance to remember why we are here on earth and what our final destination is. And even more importantly, are we making sure that those around us, whom we love, are believing the same things we are. Where is there heart! (And who is in it!) I know that there is a lot more that goes along with this feast day but for me that is the gist of it. So, for our family on this All Souls Day we are going to remember Sid. As all of you may know, Patrick lost his brother in a motorcycle accident 6 months ago. It is hard to believe that 6 months have already gone by. So, on this day I will remember the trip Sid took up here to Ohio last February. We had the chance to go sledding, touring downtown Cleveland in negative temperatures and paying a visit to Amish country. It was a fun trip for all of us.
So on this All Souls Day I hope that everyone can remember anyone they may have lost. Love ya and God Bless, Tara G.

Costumes!!!

I thought I would add a few pictures of the kids in their costumes before we headed out for some delicious, not nutritious, candy from complete strangers! Got to love it!!! We hope everyone has a great time tonight!Jordan is a "Nice Witch" from the Northeast.
Isaac is "Superman." Of course we have always known this fact about him.

And Sydney is a "Blooming Flower." I think they all look good in their costumes this year. And they are very excited about all the JUNK that will be coming in!

Full Armor of God!

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." Ephesians 6:13

Patrick had a bible study tonight and came home excited about Ephesians 6:10-20. I have read this chapter before but don't always pull it out when things seem to get hectic. This chapter talks about the Armor of God. How he gives us a belt of truth, a breastplate of righteousness and our feet fitted with readiness. Not to forget a shield of faith and a helmet of salvation. Armor is defined in the dictionary as protective covering, or shield. I liked verse 13 (the one at the top). I would have to agree with Patrick, this is a good chapter. Especially with everything going on in the world today. I have to keep telling myself that I have the armor of God around me.

Another reason I liked this scripture was because today we had the chance to go trick-or-treating and we went with some of our really good friends. One of Jordan's friends was a knight. How appropriate is that. His mom made his costume with a belt, breastplate, shield and helmet all included. Was it chance, well I think not. I think this is God's way of reminding me that he is everywhere. How great is a God that can remind me of his greatness and love for me in everything I do.

We will talk to everyone soon. Love ya and God Bless, Tara
p.s. The picture on top of this post was taken about 3 weeks ago when we went to the pumpkin patch. My mom took the picture and the big joke about her photo skills is that she always cuts off Patrick's head on any picture she takes. She did a pretty good job on this one and all of his head made this picture! Lucky Patrick!!!! Thanks Mom for the picture.

We are doing Well!

Well, We are doing well here in Ohio. The weather is getting cooler and I caught a few picture of the kids this week in footed-pj's. They love footed-pj's. I caught this picture a couple of weeks ago and Sydney was not as excited about the picture as everyone else was. I still thought is was a cute picture of Patrick and the kids. The following picture was taken tonight. We had the chance to go to a Hudson football game tonight and we all had a really great time. Jordan enjoys watching the cheerleaders and wants to be one some day. Isaac really does enjoy watching football. Needless to say, we all had a really great time. I just can't believe how big Sydney looks in this picture. She has started sitting up, but bobbles back and forth a lot. (That is just part of learning to sit up.)
This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago when my parents were here. We all had fun while my parents were here. Lets be honest, we have fun ANY time someone comes to visit us.

And this picture was taken last week. The kids were enjoying the nice evening weather. Isaac was even riding Jordan's cool PINK scooter! He definately doesn't care what the color of the toy is he is playing with.

Overall we are doing very well. Jordan is really enjoying school and can't seem to get enough. Isaac has also enjoyed his school. He is making some really cute artwork. And Sydney is growing like crazy. Tomorrow she will be 6 months old! I can't even believe it. Patrick and I are also doing well. Patrick continues to stay busy with work and the kids seem to keep me running around. I will continue to keep everyone posted on how we are doing.
Love ya and God Bless, Tara G.

Isaac's new Bed!

"I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord,
make me dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8
Isaac has a new bed and hopefully he will sleep in PEACE tonight!
We got him some new mattresses and Patrick made him a new bed. We got the headboard from some good friends and Patrick and my Dad made the rest of the bed this past week. They did a really good job. And Isaac, well he was very excited and we had no trouble getting him to bed tonight.

I caught a few pictures of the kids and Patrick after he got it put all together.
And Sydney just laid on the floor and relaxed while we were getting it all put together. She didn't seem to mind all the running around too much. Honestly, I think she is pretty used to the craziness around our house. HAHA

Talk to everyone soon. Love ya and God Bless, Tara G.

Happy Birthday!!!

Well, tomorrow is Jordan's God-Father's birthday. Jordan calls him "CRAZY Uncle Walter." The rest of us just call him "Walter" usually. Well, we hope he has a great birthday. How old are you now Walter? Well, you don't act a day over 21 and that is all that matters. We hope you have a great birthday and we wish we could stop by to sing a birthday song, but I guess this blog is going to be as close as you are going to get to seeing the Gallegos Family on your Birthday! (Bummer for all of us!) We hope you have a great Birthday and we will talk to ya soon. Love ya and God Bless, Jordan, Isaac, Sydney, Tara and Patrick

Apple and Pumpkin Picking!

We had the chance to go to an apple and pumpkin farm this afternoon and had a great time. We are really having fun with my parents visiting. FUN- another word that can be replaced with the word fun is enjoy.
"Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture." Psalm 37:3
When I read this scripture I think about how good the Lord really is to his followers. When we allow ourselves to trust truly in Christ's road then we will enjoy the love that he has for each one of us. I have to admit that sometimes it is hard for me to be so far from our families. Moving to Ohio was a big move for us; however, Patrick and I knew that this was the path which Christ wanted for our family. Ohio has had its ups and downs but we remember that we shall enjoy the things that are around us. We have made so many great friends which the Lord has placed around us. (They are all gifts from the Lord!) The current gift we are enjoying is a visit from my parents. It is always fun to have family visit. And as you can see by the following photos we had a lot to be joyful for today! And well, we are also enjoying the fall season. The leaves are changing and it is a beautiful sight to see. We even get the chance to pick pumpkins and apples with the kids. Gotta love the change of seasons.
I even caught a picture of Sydney with an apple that Isaac picked. She didn't get to get out of the carseat much, but she still seemed to have a good time.

And LOOK, even Grandma go a chance to be a part of a wagon full of pumpkins!
This was a picture of Jordan and Isaac picking apples. I really like these apple trees. They are all short so the kids can walk right up and pick an apple. No climbing or lifting anyone up. It was great and they had a lot of fun.
Love ya and God Bless, Tara G.

Time with Grandma and Papa!

Well, my parents are in town and we are having a blast. The kids are having so much fun and I have to admit that Patrick and I are having a great time also. We had the chance to go out and have dinner all my ourselves!!! And after dinner we had the chance to go see a movie! The last movie we saw at the theater was "Horton hears a Who." We got to go see the movie "Fireproof." It was really a great movie with a good message to go with it. Needless to say, we had a chance to just hang out with each other and that was fun. My parents are here for the next week so I am sure there will be many more pictures to post. I will talk to everyone soon. Love ya and God Bless, Tara G.
